encouraged to be bad

Why is that as Christians we sometimes encourage people to be bad, I mean like REALLY bad.
Like this band, I'm sure someone told them...."Guys you are amazing, you should make a cd, or better yet make a music video.
No one probably ever told them how bad they are, and so they made a music video, and are now being made fun of all over the internet. Encouraged to be bad.
